Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust - Fertility Centre
Mindelsohn Way, Birmingham B15 2TG, United Kingdom
Description of the clinic
The Fertility Centre at Birmingham Women's Hospital has provided fertility services since 1980. It is the only NHS-based specialist fertility centre in Birmingham and the West Midlands. The centre offers a full range of assisted reproduction services including IVF, ICSI treatment, treatment with donated eggs or sperm, fertility preservation, and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). Since 2009, the centre has been one of the UK's leading providers of pre-implantation genetic testing. The centre operates its own sperm bank and egg donation programme, and pioneered egg-sharing arrangements where women undergoing fertility treatment can offset costs by donating eggs to other women. The centre provides access to specialist gynaecology treatment to optimize patient health before pregnancy. It serves more than 50,000 women, men and families annually across the Women's Hospital.
