The Assisted Reproduction Unit (Unidad de Reproducción Asistida) is part of the Hospital Universitario La Paz, a public university hospital in Madrid. Services include evaluation of sterile and infertile couples, ovarian stimulation and ovulation induction, artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, surgical treatment of pathology associated with sterility or infertility, and fertility preservation techniques (oocyte vitrification, ovarian cortex cryopreservation, and semen cryopreservation). The unit emphasizes research, teaching, and continuous professional development, with staff participating in working groups of scientific societies including the Spanish Society of Fertility and the Madrid Health Service.
