Univerzitná nemocnica Bratislava

Univerzitná nemocnica Bratislava (UNB) is the largest healthcare facility in Slovakia, comprising five hospitals: Nemocnica Ružinov, Nemocnica akademika Ladislava Dérera, Nemocnica sv. Cyrila a Metoda, Nemocnica Staré Mesto, and Špecializovaná geriatrická nemocnica Podunajské Biskupice. The facility provides comprehensive healthcare services including emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, gynecology and obstetrics, urology, ophthalmology, hematology, otolaryngology, pneumology, dermatology, radiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, geriatrics, and psychiatry. UNB conducts over 100,000 hospitalizations annually and performs more than 56,000 surgical procedures per year. The facility operates over 260 outpatient clinics providing approximately 2 million outpatient procedures annually. UNB serves as a teaching hospital affiliated with Comenius University Faculty of Medicine and Slovak Medical University, supporting medical education and research activities. The facility employs over 1,400 doctors and 2,200 nurses with approximately 6,000 total staff members. UNB operates three maternity units across its hospitals. The facility is a state-funded organization under the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.
